Ocean View Batters Wyoming, 14-1

The Ocean View Little League team from Huntington Beach opened the Western Regional Wednesday with a 14-1 victory over Wyoming in San Bernardino. The game was stopped after four innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.

Hank Conger and Dallas Walters drove in five runs each for Ocean View, which will play New Mexico in another pool-play game tonight.

Walters hit a two-run home run in the first inning and Conger followed with a bases-empty homer to help Ocean View to a 4-0 lead.

Ocean View added seven runs in the third inning, including a three-run double by Walters and a two-run homer by Conger. Trey Valbuena also homered in the inning.

Walters and Valbuena combined to strike out the first nine Wyoming batters.
