Some Basic Reminders for Johnson and Monday

Share

Two hundred seventy-four games into the reign of Davey Johnson, and he chooses to ignore the squeeze play again. It results in the 5-4 loss of Wednesday night’s game to the Cubs in 10 innings. Does he even have a squeeze sign? Isn’t it the manager’s job to put his team in a position to win? It’s well past the time to make a change.

I cringe when Rick Monday is broadcasting a Dodger game.

I’m sure that he spends a lot of time doing his research for game commentary. Lord knows he has a lot of commentary. So much so that he often forgets to report on the game. The listener often discovers that during Rick’s commentary on some player’s history, two or three pitches may have gone by unreported.

I guess we’re all Scully-spoiled.

Regarding your article on the Dodger ushers getting rid of plastic straw hats and enough polyester to kill about five dinosaurs, I have heard it all! A sportswriter writing about fashion?

I guess you’re really bent out of shape because now the sportswriters are the only ones in the stadium left wearing polyester!!
