FULLERTON
Fullerton fire officials are cautioning residents to be wary of phone solicitors seeking donations on behalf of late Fullerton Fire Chief Steve Magliocco.
Acting Fire Chief Dan Chidester said a resident called the department last week to report a phone solicitor claiming to be collecting donations for Magliocco, who died July 22 after a struggle with cancer.
Chidester said the department, the Fullerton Firefighters Assn. and the Magliocco family have not authorized any organization or agency to solicit donations in their behalf. Residents called by solicitors claiming to be from one of those agencies should call (714) 738-6500.
