Holloway Looks Doubtful
Notre Dame’s injury situation has turned out as expected, going into the game. Jabari Holloway, a senior tight end who made several preseason All-American teams but never quite performed up to that level because of injuries, tried to go through the paces in practice earlier in the week, but his knee injury has left him immobile and unlikely to play. Shane Walton, the junior cornerback from San Diego who broke his forearm against Rutgers late in the season, was expected to heal in time to play and has practiced. He will not start, however, since Coach Bob Davie has noted that practicing and taking actual game hits are vastly different. Clifford Jefferson, a junior from Dallas, will start in Walton’s place.
