Pacific 59, Cal State Fullerton 54--The Titans (8-10, 3-4 in the Big West) cut a nine-point deficit with four minutes to two with 18 seconds but could get no closer to the Tigers (9-10, 4-3) in having their home winning streak end at six.

Fullerton pulled within 56-54 on Brandon Campbell’s dunk with 18 seconds left and got possession three seconds later after Pacific’s Nathan Davis made one of two free throws. The Titans, however, never got off a shot as Davis knocked the ball away from Mark Murphy as he neared the three-point arc and the Tigers’ Clay McKnight called timeout after scrambling to gain possession. Davis was fouled after the ball was inbounded and made two free throws.

Sophomore Ross Mills came off the bench to lead Pacific with 19 points, making nine of 14 shots. Mills had replaced Mike Preston, injured his left foot four minutes into the game.

Ike Harmon led Fullerton 15 points, but Murphy--who had at least one three-point basket in 44 previous games--missed all five of his shots from behind the arc.
