Maryland had lost 28 of its last 33 games against Duke, but made up for some of its frustration against the Blue Devils on Wednesday night at Durham, N.C.

The 23rd-ranked Terrapins got 31 points from Juan Dixon and two key three-point baskets late by Terence Morris in a 98-87 victory over the third-ranked Blue Devils. The victory ended Duke’s record regular-season Atlantic Coast Conference winning streak at 31 games.

Duke, 18-3 overall and 9-1 in the ACC, also had the nation’s longest winning streak end at 18 and lost in Cameron Indoor Stadium for the first time since Jan. 11, 1997 when it was defeated by Wake Forest--a span of 46 games.

The score was tied, 83-83, when Morris made a three-point basket from the baseline with 3:27 left to give Maryland the lead for good. A minute later, he made another three-point shot.
