Four Cal State Fullerton wrestlers have qualified for the NCAA championships in St. Louis, March 16-19.
Senior Jason Webster leads the Titan qualifiers, winning the 174-pound championship in last weekend’s Pacific-10 Conference meet at UC Davis. Webster defeated Nathan Coy of Oregon State, 10-9, for the title.
It was Fullerton’s first individual Pac-10 championship since 1992.
Other qualifiers include senior Babak Nejadmaghaddam, second at 197 pounds, and sophomore Joe Calavitta, second at 149. The other qualifier, freshman T.J. Hill, won the consolation round at 125 pounds to finish third. Fullerton finished sixth in the team competition with 64.5 points. Boise State won with 133.5 points.
