* Key: This is just the type of team that has tripped up the Ducks all season.

* 1998-99 season series: 0-0-2

* About New York: The Islanders have the worst record in the NHL. They are the only team that hasn’t cracked 100 goals. The Islanders did shut out Tampa Bay, 2-0, Saturday, ending a 144-minute 42-second scoreless streak. Center David Scatchard left that game with a right leg sprain but is expected to play Wednesday.

SATURDAY AT PITTSBURGH

* Starting time: 4:30 p.m.

* Television: Channel 9

* Radio: XTRA (690 AM)

* Key: If Jaromir Jagr plays, the Ducks have to be aware of him.

* Season series: The Ducks won 2-1 on Oct. 27.

* About Pittsburgh: Jagr, the NHL’s leading scorer with 74 points, did not play in Sunday’s 4-4 tie with Philadelphia because of a strained stomach muscle. He has missed three consecutive games.

MONDAY AT BOSTON

* Starting time: 4 p.m.

* Television: Fox Sports West 2

* Key: The Ducks should hope Boston Coach Pat Burns doesn’t start name calling again. He said some of his players were “mopers,” last week. The Bruins won the next two games.

* Season series: The Bruins dominated in a 3-2 victory on Oct. 24.

* About Boston: Joe Thornton is showing why he was the first overall pick three years ago. Only 20, he has 12 goals and 39 points while centering the Bruins’ defensive line.

TUESDAY AT BUFFALO

* Starting time: 4 p.m.

* Television: Fox Sports West 2

* Radio: XTRA (690 AM)

* Key: The Ducks need to do everything exactly opposite from how the played against the Sabres on Jan. 17.

* Season series: The Sabres embarrassed the Ducks, 5-0, on Jan. 17.

* About Buffalo: The Sabres are a mess. They have lost three consecutive games since beating the Ducks and are 3-9-1 in their last 13 games.
