Crescenta Valley Pushes Muir Before Losing, 60-55

Share

The girls’ basketball rivalry between Crescenta Valley High and Muir is fierce.

They have combined to win every Pacific League championship dating to the 1980s and shared the league title last season.

This season, Crescenta Valley has struggled and Muir has dominated.

But that didn’t keep the teams from engaging in a championship-caliber showdown on Friday night at Crescenta Valley. Muir won, 60-55, but not without a scare.

Sinnamonn Garrett had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Kristie Umemoto added 16 points for Crescenta Valley (12-9, 2-4 in league play), which led by nine points in the third quarter.
