Van Nuys Show Ball 2, Sylmar 0--Alec Moss’ run-scoring single in the fourth broke a scoreless tie for Show Ball (22-1) in a second-round game.
Ryan had three of Show Ball’s seven hits off Jaime Mah, who struck out 12 and walked three.
Three pitchers combined on a three-hitter for Show Ball. Matt Kohan (3-0), who allowed one hit, left after four innings because of an injury.
DIVISION II
Canyon 4, Palmdale 3--Ryan Burke’s run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth gave Canyon a first-round victory.
Ryan Hawkins had three hits for Canyon, which will play Lancaster today at 5 at Chatsworth.
West Hills Chaminade 11, Lancaster 3--T.J. Franco, Jim Rappaport and Cody Herther each had three hits for Chaminade.
Chaminade plays Palmdale today at 2 at Chatsworth.
