INFIELDERS

DOMINIQUE LASTRAPES LAGUNA HILLS FR.

Lastrapes’ extensive range at second base was a boon to the Hawks, and so were her offensive contributions. She batted .467, scored 26 runs and had 22 runs batted in.

CARRIE HAGEN MARINA JR.

Third baseman batted .398 with three homers, seven RBIs and 26 runs. Batting leadoff, her .582 slugging average powered fourth-ranked Vikings to a share of Sunset League title.

ERIN MOBLEY FOOTHILL JR.

A converted outfielder who played nearly flawless second base, Mobley had a .549 slugging average. She batted .385 with 19 runs, 13 RBIs and 23 stolen bases for No. 1 Foothill.

OUTFIELDERS

BREANA BOHLS WOODBRIDGE SR.

A right fielder who will play next season at Cal State Northridge, Bohls had six assists and provided important leadership. She batted .321, scored 18 runs and had 24 RBIs.

AUTUMN CHAMPION FOOTHILL SO.

A center fielder who often had to take pitches while batting behind Caitlin Lowe, Champion nevertheless responded with a .353 average, scored 31 runs and stole 24 bases.

LESLIE SIMIEN LAGUNA HILLS SR.

A first-team center fielder last season with explosive speed, Simien batted .346 with 31 steals and 22 runs for Division III semifinalist. She will attend UC Santa Barbara.

PITCHERS

MALLORY ANDERSON ROSARY JR.

Though she had only 90 strikeouts in 168 1/3 innings, Anderson went 18-6 with a 0.54 ERA. A left-hander, she posted victories over Valley View and Mater Dei for the fifth-ranked Royals.

KRISTINA HYLLESTED R. ALAMITOS SR.

Hyllested’s performance carried Rancho Alamitos to a surprising share of the Garden Grove League title with Pacifica. She went 18-4 with a 0.57 ERA, and will attend Central Michigan.

LINDSEY KNOFF TROY SR.

Knoff, who will play at Long Beach State, took a mediocre program and carried it to the playoffs for four years. She went 15-6 with a 0.49 ERA, and Warriors nearly won first title in 20 years.

JESSICA MARICAL PACIFICA SO.

Marical pitched the Mariners to the Division III final. She went 17-2 with a 0.46 ERA, winning 17 in a row. Prior to losing title game, her only loss was to Clovis’ Jamie Southern.

FIRST BASEMAN

DARCEY BROWN LOS ALAMITOS SR.

Established herself as one of the county’s best clutch hitters with 20 RBIs, many of them game-winners in second half of season. Batted .330, and will attend Long Beach State.

CATCHER

ERICA GREENBERG CALVARY CHAPEL SR.

Rifle-armed catcher batted .360 with a .667 slugging percentage. Greenberg, who will attend Penn St., hit four home runs, scored 18 and drove in 25.

DESIGNATED HITTER

JESSICA VERNAGLIA ALISO NIGUEL JR.

Vernaglia batted third on a team known for its offense. A third baseman, she batted .385, scored 16 runs and had 24 RBIs as the Wolverines rose to seventh in the county rankings.

UTILITY

KENDRA SINGLEY IRVINE FR.

Splitting time at shortstop and second base, Singley was a terror at the plate in her first season, batting .421 for the Vaqueros. She hit six homers, scored 24 runs and drove in 13.
