John Manuel’s single drove in Dan Scott with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift Glendale College over Santa Barbara, 6-5, in a Western State Conference interdivisional baseball game Saturday afternoon.
Manuel’s solo home run in the ninth tied the score, 5-5.
Jason Botts hit his seventh home run and had four runs batted in for Glendale (7-7-1, 2-1).
Canyons 14, Oxnard 9--Tim Hutting had five hits and four RBIs for Canyons in a WSC interdivisional game.
Chris Mayberry hit his fourth home run, a solo shot in the fourth, for the Cougars (7-4, 3-0).
Gonzaga 12, Pepperdine 9--Woody Cliffords and Dane Sardinha each had three RBIs for Pepperdine in a West Coast Conference game.
Cliffords hit his second home run of the season, and Sardinha hit his third for Pepperdine (8-9, 1-1).
The Master’s 10, California Christian 0--Mike Wertz had a home run and three RBIs and Ty Sager had three hits, including a double, for the host Master’s in a seven-inning game.
Josh Wood (1-0) and Brandon Grant combined for 11 strikeouts over six innings for Master’s (14-3).
San Diego at CS Northridge--Only one umpire showed up for the nonconference game, forcing a postponement.
The game will be played today at San Diego as part of a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m.
SOFTBALL
Hancock 10, Valley 2--Monica Jaramillo had two RBIs and Vanessa Garcia struck out five for Valley (1-9) in WSC interdivisional game at Hancock.
Glendale 4, Ventura 3--Justine Takizawa had two hits, two RBIs and scored one run for Glendale (8-7) in a WSC interdivisional game at Ventura.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
CS Northridge 70, CS Sacramento 67--Leah Rice scored 16 points and Neda Milic added 14 for Northridge in a Big Sky Conference game at Sacramento.
Lynda Amari scored 13 points and LaShaunda Fowler scored 12 for Northridge (17-9, 11-5). Keisha Harris had 11 rebounds.
Sephora Scoubes scored 25 points for Sacramento (6-21, 4-12).
George Fox 71, Cal Lutheran 63--Anna Lindseth scored 16 points and Nicole Sanchez added 15 and 10 rebounds but the Regals (19-7) fell in a Division III West Regional game at Newberg, Ore.
Katie Greller scored 23 points for George Fox (23-4), which advanced to the sectional tournament.
