Carson 12, Chatsworth 3--Hector Vasquez had a home run, a triple and three runs batted in for the Colts in a nonleague victory at Carson.

Justin Hanchett had two hits for Chatsworth (5-1), ranked No. 3 in the region.

Oxnard 2, Rio Mesa 1--Alex Merricks scored the winning run on Gary James’ single in the sixth inning of a Pacific View League game at Rio Mesa.

Merricks (2-0) struck out six, allowed one hit and did not walk a batter in five innings for Oxnard (3-1, 1-0).

John Mosqueda hit a solo home run in the fifth inning for Rio Mesa (2-3, 0-1).

Chaminade 10, Loyola 8--Ryan Siroka had four hits and three RBIs, and picked up a save for the Eagles (4-1, 1-0) in a Mission League game at Chaminade.

Notre Dame 17, Harvard-Westlake 0--Brendan Ryan had a triple, two doubles and three RBIs for the Knights in a Mission League game at Franklin Field that was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.

Alec Moss had three hits, including a two-run home run, and three RBIs for the Knights (3-3, 1-0).

Daniel Browne (1-2) pitched a three-hitter with six strikeouts and one walk.

Rob Lowenthal had two hits for the Wolverines (4-1, 0-1).

Canyon 5, Palmdale 3--Adam Rondou had two doubles and two RBIs for the Cowboys (4-2) in a nonleague victory at Canyon.

Highland 4, Ventura 0--Tommy Gonzales had a no-hitter through five innings and the Bulldogs halted a two-game losing streak in a nonleague game at Ventura.

Gonzales (2-1) finished with a two-hitter and struck out seven for Highland (4-2), ranked No. 8 in the region.

Calabasas 3, North Hollywood 1--Sophomore Brad Schultz and senior Tony Sulser combined on a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts for the Coyotes (4-1-1) at Calabasas.

El Camino Real 9, Kennedy 8--The Conquistadores tied the score with three runs in the seventh, then scored three times in the ninth to win at Kennedy.

Conor Jackson hit a three-run home run to get El Camino Real (4-1) even in the seventh.

Jason Kort hit a two-run double in the ninth and Jackson scored what proved to be the winning run on a double play.

Adam Geery had three hits and scored two runs for the Golden Cougars (2-4).

Poly 9, Sylmar 3--The Parrots scored eight runs in the sixth, three on a double by Josh Wheeler in a nonleague game at Poly.

Joe Hampel (1-1) pitched 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief for Poly (3-2).

Jamie Mah hit a three-run home run for Sylmar (3-3) in the first inning.

Granada Hills 9, Franklin 6--Dale Curry hit a grand slam to cap a six-run third for the Highlanders in a nonleague victory at Franklin.

John Voita hit a solo home run in the third--his sixth of the season--to give Granada Hills (4-2) a 9-1 lead.

Birmingham 8, Van Nuys 6--Jose Carrillo doubled, tripled and drove in four runs for the Patriots (5-1) in a nonleague game at Birmingham.

Anthony Baer (1-0) allowed three hits, struck out seven and walked one in four innings for Birmingham.

St. Bonaventure 9, Santa Clara 5--Jeff Springgate had three hits and Jack Swisher had two hits and three RBIs in the Seraphs’ nonleague victory at Santa Clara.

Swisher’s two-run single in the second gave St. Bonaventure (3-0-1) a 5-0 lead and his run-scoring single in the fifth gave the Seraphs a 7-1 advantage.

Santa Paula 10, Burbank 6--Danny Torres’ two-run double ignited a six-run inning in the fourth in a victory at Santa Paula.

John Reyes had three hits, two RBIs and scored twice as Santa Paula (4-1) won its fourth consecutive game.
