Hueneme Outruns Camarillo, 75-51

Patrick Wetzel won two events and ran legs on two winning relays, and Hueneme High upset Camarillo, 75-51, in a Pacific View League track and field opener at Camarillo on Thursday.

Wetzel won the 400 meters in 51.3 seconds and the 300 intermediate hurdles in 48.1.

The Vikings won the 400 relay in 43.9 and 1,600 relay in 3:35.0.

Chadd Smith of Camarillo cleared 6-8 in the high jump.

Ventura 92, Dos Pueblos 34--Senior Clark Goodwin ran a career-best 48.7 in the 400 and anchored two winning relay teams to help the Cougars (2-1) win a Channel League opener at Dos Peublos.

BOYS’ GOLF

Harvard-Westlake 191, Alemany 191--Sixth man Brian Zelner of Harvard-Westlake shot a five-over-par 40, one stroke better than sixth man Ron Garcia of Alemany, to give the Wolverines a victory in a tie-breaker in a Mission League match at Porter Valley Country Club in Northridge.

Miguel DeGuzman parred the last hole and finished at 39 to pull the Wolverines even.

Crescenta Valley 190, Burroughs 211--Mike Park shot two-over-par 37 and three teammates finished a stroke behind for the Falcons (7-1) in a nonleague victory at DeBell Golf Course in Burbank.

Mike Vahoviak shot a 37 for Burroughs (3-4).

BOYS’ TENNIS

Granada Hills 7, Cleveland 0--No. 1 player Nima Roshan and No. 2 Vlad Kinevsky won by 6-0, 6-0 scores for the Highlanders (4-0, 1-0) in a West Valley League opener at Granada Hills.

Grant 7, Verdugo Hills 0--Josh Opos defeated Howard Marsillio, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1 singles for the Lancers (4-0, 1-0) in a Sunset Six League match at Grant.

Burbank 11, Pasadena Poly 7--Eugene Shin and Min Kang improved to 18-0 at No. 1 doubles for the Bulldogs (6-0) in a nonleague victory at the Racquet Centre of Pasadena.

Harvard-Westlake 16, Loyola 2--No. 1 player Andrew Rosenfeld and No. 2 David Frankel each swept two sets and the Wolverines won a Mission League match at UCLA.

Harvard-Westlake and Loyola shared the league championship last season.

The Wolverines (5-1, 4-0) are ranked No. 3 in the Southern Section Division I poll. Loyola is ranked No. 6 in Division II.

Simi Valley 18, Saugus 0--J.P. Augustin and Rudy Barajas did not lose a game at No. 1 doubles for the host Pioneers (4-3).

Van Nuys 7, Monroe 0--Eugene Han, Scott Kim and Danny Kim won in singles for the Wolves (4-0) in a Valley Mission League match at Monroe.
