Missouri Convict Charged in Woman’s 1987 Slaying
A Missouri convict already accused of murdering a Monrovia teenager in 1974 was charged Friday with killing a woman friend in Rancho Cucamonga nearly 13 years ago.
Louis Burgess, 46, is charged with raping and murdering 22-year-old Deborah Hoch, who was found dead in her bathtub May 26, 1987.
Burgess is already awaiting trial for the rape and murder of Kimberly Miller, 15, whose body was found in Azusa Canyon on March 25, 1974.
Evidence had been taken from both victims and kept for later testing, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Kathleen M. Cady.
Burgess is also facing a possible indictment in Missouri for the October 1990 sexual assault and strangulation of a 31-year-old woman.
