Bloomquist Comes Up Big for Lancaster, 7-3

Willie Bloomquist hit a two-run triple during a four-run seventh inning for the Lancaster JetHawks in a 7-3 victory over the Bakersfield Blaze on Monday at The Hanger in Lancaster.
Bloomquist’s triple broke a 3-3 tie.
Juan Silvestre’s two-run home run in the sixth tied the score, 3-3, for the JetHawks (16-9).
Starter Josue Matos struck out eight and surrendered four hits in six innings for the JetHawks. Aaron Looper (2-1) did not allow a run in 1 2/3 innings.
Bakersfield is 13-11.

Bloomquist became the first minor league player this season to collect six hits in a game. He was six for seven, including a double, in Lancaster’s 19-3 victory over Lake Elsinore on Sunday.
Bloomquist and right fielder Terrmel Sledge each drove in four runs. Sledge had a double and a triple among his three hits.
