4.1-Magnitude Temblor Rocks Humboldt County
A magnitude 4.1 earthquake occurred off the Humboldt County coast at 2:12 a.m. Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
Neither damage nor injuries were caused by the temblor, which was located 43 miles southwest of Eureka and 17 miles northwest of Punta Gorda in the undersea area where tectonic plates meet and which is a frequent site of seismic activity.
