Kilionski Puts Simi Valley in Contention, Perfectly
Mandy Kilionski pitched a perfect game and kept Simi Valley High in the hunt for a Southern Section playoff berth with a 3-0 victory over host Royal in a Marmonte League game Tuesday.
Kilionski (7-2), a freshman, struck out 17.
Diana Michael had three hits and Brittney Green, Kolia Ponce and Cindy Gray each had two hits for Simi Valley (17-8, 7-4 in league play), which faces Westlake on Friday with a playoff spot on the line.
Newbury Park 3, Agoura 0--Katie Stokx threw a one-hitter and drove in two runs as the Panthers assured themselves of a playoff berth in a Marmonte League game at Borchard Park.
Stokx struck out five, went three for three and hit a two-run double in the fifth for Newbury Park (18-11, 8-4).
Thousand Oaks 2, Moorpark 0--Michelle Spencer scored both runs for the Lancers (20-5-1, 11-0) in a Marmonte League game at Moorpark.
Spencer scored on Jenni Perez’s single in the first and on Sheridan Fowler’s single in the fifth.
Hart 11, Burroughs 2--Jocelyn Evans and Carly Caldaronello each had two-run singles during an eight-run fifth and host Hart (20-5, 8-1) clinched its third consecutive Foothill League title.
Evans had two hits and Hart snapped a two-game losing streak.
Burbank 4, Canyon 1--Emily Brower (11-6) threw a three-hitter, struck out nine and walked one for the Bulldogs (15-7, 4-5) in a Foothill League game at McCambridge Park.
Valencia 1, Saugus 0--Freshman Danyale Peterson singled to score Ashley Herrera in the sixth inning and give the Vikings a Foothill League victory at Valencia.
Michelle Smith pitched a two-hitter with five strikeouts and one walk for Valencia (17-8, 6-3).
Hueneme 3, Rio Mesa 2--Emily Otineru scored from second on a throwing error in the 15th and the Vikings (15-7, 8-4) clinched second place in the Pacific View League at Rio Mesa.
Chrissy Hildebrandt hit a two-run double and Rio Mesa (15-9-1, 8-4) tied the score, 2-2, in the seventh. Hueneme’s Charity Harmeson doubled, tripled and drove in two runs.
Oak Park 4, Carpinteria 1--Dana Porter (7-4) threw a three-hitter and had a school-record 17 strikeouts for the visiting Eagles (14-8, 8-1) in a Tri-Valley League game.
St. Bonaventure 10, Bishop Diego 0--Annie Marostica pitched a four-hitter with seven strikeouts for St. Bonaventure (14-10, 4-5) in a Tri-Valley League victory at Bishop Diego. Elizabeth Spagnolia had a three-run triple.
La Canada 7, San Marino 0--Kelly Hurst pitched a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts and Jamie Hurst had three RBIs as visiting La Canada (14-8, 11-0) extended its Rio Hondo League winning streak to 17.
Whitney 1, Montclair Prep 0--Monique Lovell allowed just five hits, but the Mounties (16-5, 5-1) lost an eight-inning, Delphic League game at Montclair Prep.
Whitney (5-1 in league) pulled into a tie for first place with Montclair Prep.
