Boyce to Coach Edison Boys’ Basketball Team

Rich Boyce is leaving Estancia to take over the Edison boys’ basketball program, Edison Athletic Director Bruce Belcher said Monday.

Boyce went 64-45 in four seasons at Estancia. He replaces Corey Kelly, who left after four seasons at Edison to pursue other teaching options.

Belcher also announced that Geoff Bell is taking over the girls’ program. Bell was an assistant under Dave White at Edison for two seasons. White resigned to spend more time with his family.

SOFTBALL

Kristin Farber and Tia Bollinger head the rosters for the North-South all-star softball game June 6 at Brea Olinda High.

Farber, a Los Alamitos outfielder who has a county-high 40 stolen bases, will play for the North. Mater Dei’s Bollinger, who leads the county with 346 strikeouts in 193 1/3 innings, will pitch for the South.
