La Canada Takes Care of Business and San Marino, 28-7

Chase McKibben rushed for 135 yards in 19 carries and scored a touchdown to power La Canada High’s 28-7 victory over San Marino in a Rio Hondo League game Thursday night at La Canada.
La Canada, which set up a title showdown next week with Monrovia, limited San Marino to 63 rushing yards and intercepted four passes.
La Canada (8-1, 4-0 in league play) forced San Marino (4-5, 1-3) to punt after three downs on eight of 12 possessions.
La Canada quarterback Eric Young scored on a 21-yard keeper to complete a seven-play, 84-yard drive with 6:05 to play in the first quarter.
Tony Naples scored the Spartans’ final touchdown on a 34-yard run, one of only two carries he had in the game.
