St. Bonaventure, which averaged 449 yards in its first eight games, took a statistical dive last week against Fillmore.
Blame it on the Seraphs’ thieving defense.
St. Bonaventure (9-0), which gained 274 yards against the Flashes, converted four turnovers into first-quarter scores for a 30-0 lead.
Coach Jon Mack said reserves played in the second quarter and for most of the second half of the 51-0 victory.
“The guys work so hard,” Mack said. “That’s the good thing about it, it gives your [reserves] a chance to play.”
St. Bonaventure, which forced six turnovers, scored touchdowns on two interception returns and a fumble recovery.
