Redemption: After wrecking my body throughout the weekend with stadium junk food and press-room coffee, the only redemption is a jog through Runyan Canyon in the Hollywood Hills on Saturday mornings. I exorcise my junk food demons and exercise along with Hollywood hotties who wrecked their bodies the night before at the Sunset Room.

Swing and Shop: Next stop is the Castle Batting Cage in Sherman Oaks. It’s comforting to know I can bat about .500 along with the 12-year-olds who are being cheered on (screamed at) by their dads. It also gives me an excuse to stop by Dari in Studio City on the way home to shop ‘cause I avoid Beverly Hills like the plague!

Shop Talk: I feel much more at home in sports bars than nightclubs, so I may stop by the Fox Sports Sky Box at Staples Center to watch games on satellite, talk man-to-man versus zone and order their excellent ahi tuna salad.

Revving Up: Early Saturday evenings, I like to take a trip down to the Salvation Army at Tustin Ranch for Praiseworks. An hour or so of inspirational messages and music does my soul well in preparation for a hectic week that is often filled with locker room profanity, cutthroat competition and vicious backstabbing. . . . It’s amazing what goes on in the Coliseum ladies room during an SC game!

Coasting: Sundays may find me driving down the coast to my favorite town, Laguna Beach. The pickup basketball games on Main Beach are competitive. I’ll soak in some sun at Thousand Steps and enjoy a filet mignon at Odessa. Relaxing in my own hot tub in the Hollywood Hills and catching up with the weekend sports pages is the perfect ending.
