Servite Hits Alemany With a Rush

With Lamar Mason and Justin Domineck combining for 446 yards rushing and three touchdowns, Servite rolled past Mission Hills Alemany, 41-10, in a nonleague game Friday at Alemany.

Mason, who rushed for 239 yards in 20 carries, scored on runs of 33 and 13 yards in the first quarter. But Alemany answered early in the second quarter when A.J. Anthony hit fullback Albert Griffin on a three-yard pass play on fourth down to cut the lead to 14-7.

Alemany (2-4) had two scoring opportunities slip away in the first quarter. Anthony had a pass intercepted by Doug Middleton at the Servite 20-yard line and the Friars blocked a 34-yard field-goal attempt.

Middleton returned the interception 30 yards to midfield. Two plays later, Mason scored on a 13-yard run.

Servite (5-1), which rolled up 530 yards rushing and 572 total yards, scored the next 27 points.

Domineck, who rushed for 207 yards in 13 carries, scored on a 13-yard screen pass from Adam Ernst with 25 seconds left in the half for a 26-7 lead. Domineck scored again in the third quarter on a 63-yard run, and Ernst capped a fourth-quarter drive with a one-yard sneak for a 41-7 lead.

De’Andre Scott gained 73 yards in 17 carries for Alemany. Scott was fighting through back pain in the second half. Servite held Alemany to 214 yards, 127 on the ground. Anthony completed five of 15 passes for 91 yards.

Ernst completed four of 11 passes for 42 yards. All the completions were screens to Domineck.
