Hueneme 54, Rio Mesa 6--Tamar Lee and Dwayne Taylor each scored three touchdowns and Julian Gooden had two scores for the Vikings at Hueneme.

Lee scored on runs of 24 and 16 yards, and caught a 65-yard touchdown pass from Gordie Pinedo--all in the first quarter.

Taylor scored on runs of 19 and 63 yards, and caught a 27-yard touchdown pass from Pinedo, as Hueneme (6-2, 2-1) built a 40-0 halftime lead.

Gooden returned the second-half kickoff 66 yards for a touchdown and had a 70-yard touchdown run seven minutes later.

Taylor rushed for 109 yards in eight carries and caught five passes for 120 yards. Gooden had three carries for 81 yards and Lee had 60 yards in five carries.

Pinedo completed eight of 11 passes for 213 yards.

Chris Davis’ three-yard touchdown run with 9:00 to play was the first score for the Spartans (1-7, 0-2) in 15 quarters.
