Northridge might not be consistent this season but punter Ethan Beck continues to be.

Beck had five booming punts Saturday against Eastern Washington, including a 44-yarder, and is averaging 40.8 yards a punt. Already on the radar screen of professional scouts, Beck ranks 22nd nationally in punting.

Against Eastern Washington, Beck showed he has more than a right leg. He showed his mettle by making a touchdown-saving tackle on a return by Lamont Brightful.

“I’ve had a few [tackles],” Beck said. “He was the first this year.”
