7:30 TONIGHT TRABUCO HILLS HIGH
The courage of El Toro Coach Mike Milner can’t be questioned, but perhaps his sanity can be for lining up Edison for his opener. His team has only one returning starter on offense and three on defense. An upset would require a perfect effort by El Toro: Defensive backs Vinnie Mascari and Randell Hill lock up Edison’s passing game, preventing Richard Schwartz from racking up big yardage, and the other nine players corral Darryl Poston (1,701 yards, 29 touchdowns). Edison gave up 31 points per game last year, but with six returning defensive starters has an edge in experience.
