Negligent Parents
All summer long we have been reading numerous stories of negligent parents leaving young children in vehicles, sometimes resulting in the death of a child. Invariably the parent is arrested and charged with child endangerment or worse.
A 6-year-old child is riding a motorized scooter legally restricted to those 16 or older, he is not wearing a helmet, is unsupervised and dies due to injuries sustained in a fall (“Death Underscores Danger of Scooters,” Aug. 17). As yet no charges against the parents or even talk of same.
