Mark Bigelow scored 27 points to lead Brigham Young to an 84-70 victory over Cal State Northridge Thursday at Provo, Utah, the Cougars’ school-record 26th consecutive home victory.

Bigelow scored 17 of his points to lead Brigham Young (8-2) to a 34-24 halftime lead.

Markus Carr, who led Northridge (2-8) with 20 points, dunked to open the second half. But Bigelow answered with a three-point basket and Jared Jensen followed with seven consecutive points during an 11-0 run that gave the Cougars a 45-26 lead with 16:49 left.

Northridge cut the lead to 56-44 on a three-pointer by Ed Estavan, but the Cougars, who are third in the nation in free-throw percentage at 79.7%, made 29 of 36 from the line in the second half to put the game away.
