Birmingham 71, Chatsworth 67--Haig Tatian and Nick Halic each scored 20 points and combined for 20 rebounds for the Patriots (9-10, 5-5) in a West Valley League victory at Birmingham.

Chatsworth was forced to share the league title with Taft and a coin flip will determine which team will earn the league’s top seeding for the playoffs.

Scott Johnston scored 24 points and Shayne Berry added 17 for Chatsworth (17-8, 8-2).

Grant 82, Verdugo Hills 48--Dewayne Anderson had 23 points, nine rebounds and six steals, Gino Riney had 22 points and four steals, and the Lancers (19-6, 9-1) clinched the Sunset Six League title at Verdugo Hills.

Sylmar 73, Reseda 69--Earnest Williams scored 28 points, including a three-pointer with one second left in regulation to send the game into overtime and help the Spartans pull out a Valley Mission League victory at Reseda.

Reseda (14-11, 7-3) went ahead, 62-59, Nashid Beard’s basket with six seconds left.

Fernando Barreda scored six points in overtime for Sylmar (15-9, 10-0).

Beard scored 24 points and Sergei Lepiashinski and Eric Johnson each had 15 points for the Regents.

Sylmar was without guard John Valdez, who cut his right hand when he caught it on a fence.
