Antelope Valley Rolls in Tournament

Tina Carrillo scored 16 points and Antelope Valley College beat Desert, 75-62, in a first-round game of the Foothill Conference tournament Thursday night at Chaffey College.

Jameka Taylor had 13 points and nine steals for the Marauders (19-13).

Chawonda Barris added 13 points for Antelope Valley.

BASEBALL

Oxnard 7, L.A. City 3--Jared Krehbiel had two hits, including a two-run double, and the Condors (4-4) won a Mt. San Antonio tournament game at L.A. City College.

Pierce 5, East Los Angeles 3--David Johnson had four hits, including a two-run double in the ninth to snap a 3-3 tie in a Mt. San Antonio tournament game at East L.A.

Kurt Birkins (3-0) allowed five hits and three earned runs and struck out six for the Brahmas (3-3).

SOFTBALL

Canyons 6, Taft 1--Casey Walper had two hits for the Cougars in a nonconference victory at Canyons.

Canyons (3-3) scored four runs in the third inning.
