In another Division II-A game:

La Puente Bishop Amat 54, Pacifica 52--David Read scored 17 points for visiting Pacifica (6-22), which forfeited 10 victories for using an ineligible player but was voted into the playoffs by the league’s principals.

In Division I-AAA:

Los Alamitos 78, Lawndale Leuzinger 64--Host Los Alamitos (18-9) led by one at the half, but broke the game open by outscoring Leuzinger, 25-10, in the third quarter. Brian Rakusin had 22 points and eight rebounds for the Griffins, who play Capistrano Valley in the second round Tuesday.

Fountain Valley 68, Lynwood 54--Kevin Edmunds scored 12 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter as the Barons (17-10) outscored Lynwood, 20-11.

In Division I-AA:

El Toro 76, Moreno Valley 42--Matt Green had 22 points and 14 rebounds and Ashkan Nazeri scored 16 points for host El Toro (24-3), which advanced to play at San Bernardino San Gorgonio on Tuesday.

University 84, Palmdale 65--Jason Garey made 11 three-pointers and scored 33 points for host University (16-10), which plays Murrieta Valley on Tuesday in the second round. Garey has 139 three-pointers this season, breaking the county record of 131 set by Mater Dei’s Clay McKnight in the 1994-95 season. He also tied the county record for most threes in a game.

In Division I-A:

Canyon 61, El Dorado 59--Derron Putnam scored nine of his 24 points in the fourth quarter, when Canyon (17-10) outscored El Dorado, 22-15.

David Patten missed a 12-foot bank shot with eight seconds left that could have tied it for El Dorado (22-5).

Mater Dei 89, Anaheim 45--Host Mater Dei (25-2) led, 34-4, at the end of the first quarter. Jamal Sampson led the top-seeded Monarchs with 17 points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots. Cedric Bozeman had 16 points and eight assists. Quinn Hawking scored 25 for Anaheim (12-16).

Villa Park 80, Palm Springs 43--Guard Matt MacGinnis scored 21 points, including five three-pointers for Villa Park (22-5). Sophomore Sean Phaler had 13 points and five blocked shots for the Spartans.

Riverside Arlington 66, Woodbridge 63--Rafael Simon, who finished with 24 points, scored seven of Arlington’s 12 fourth-quarter points and fourth-seeded Woodbridge couldn’t score in its last three possessions as Arlington (20-9) advanced. Danny Lambert scored 29 for Woodbridge (21-5).

In Division IV-AA:

Orange Lutheran 70, Bishop Union 66--Trailing by nine points at the end of the third quarter, Orange Lutheran outscored Union, 23-13, to win. Jason Taylor had 18 points and Mark Troyer had 17 points and 18 rebounds for Orange Lutheran (13-11).
