BOYS’ BASKETBALL PLAYOFFS
In a Division II-A quarterfinal game:
Ocean View 62, Monrovia 53--Marques Crane had 21 points and 11 rebounds, Steve Clarke made four three-pointers and had 13 points and Torin Beeler, in his second game back from mononucleosis, had eight points and seven rebounds for Ocean View (22-6), which led, 30-15, at halftime.
The Seahawks will face Lakewood Mayfair in a semifinal Friday.
In Division IV-AA quarterfinal games:
Northwood 81, L.A. Cathedral 71--Drew Terry scored 10 of his game-high 30 points in the fourth quarter as host Northwood (21-7) pulled away for the victory. Adam Roggero scored 16 points and Scott Sanchez 13 for the Timberwolves. Ryan Ramos led Cathedral with 22 points.
Oak Park 46, Orange Lutheran 44--Darrell Jenkins missed a three-pointer with four seconds left and Matt Hein missed the put-back attempt, the ball rolling off the rim, for visiting Orange Lutheran (13-12). Jenkins had 14 points and Marc Troyer had 12 for the Lancers.
In a Division V-A quarterfinal:
Tarbut V’ Torah 80, West L.A. Baptist 74--Host Tarbut V’ Torah (23-2) led by 14 at halftime but needed 16 fourth-quarter free throws to hold off L.A. Baptist (16-7). Geoff Keith made eight of 10 three-pointers and had 34 points and Noam Dashti had 26 points and 16 rebounds for the Lions, who play the L.A. Price/Apple Valley Christian winner on Saturday night.
