* Last year: Tom Lehman ended a four-year PGA Tour victory drought, beating Australia’s Robert Allenby by a stroke.
* Last week: Brad Faxon won the Sony Open in Honolulu, leading wire-to-wire for a four-stroke victory over Lehman. Faxon tied the Waialae record with a 20-under 260 total.
* Notes: Tiger Woods is making his second start of the year. He tied for eighth in the Mercedes Championships two weeks ago in Hawaii, extending his tour-record streak of rounds of par or better to 51. . . . * Last year: Australia’s Karrie Webb successfully defended her title, beating Juli Inkster by four strokes at the Ibis Golf and Country Club in West Palm Beach.
* Last week: Sweden’s Sophie Gustafson won the Subaru Memorial of Naples, beating Webb by three strokes. Gustafson tied the tournament record of 16-under 272.
* Notes: Webb has led or shared the lead in the tournament for eight consecutive rounds. She has 23 victories in 123 LPGA Tour starts. . . . * Notes: Player will join Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Hale Irwin in the four-man event. . . . Irwin won the 1999 competition, ending Raymond Floyd’s five-year winning streak. . . .
