North All-Stars Win Behind Strong Defense

The North forced three turnovers and registered four sacks in a 23-3 victory over the South on Friday night before 6,000 at Orange Coast College in the Orange County all-star football game.

Orange El Modena linebacker Adam Lancisero, the defensive most valuable player, had a blocked punt, an interception and a sack for the North, which scored 16 points off turnovers. Lancisero returned an interception 53 yards late in the second quarter to set up the first touchdown.

Mike Patterson of Los Alamitos, a 6-foot, 290-pound defensive lineman, ran seven yards up the middle to give the North a 7-3 lead. Patterson was selected offensive player of the game.

Los Alamitos receiver Tony Holder caught two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter.
