Santa Barbara San Marcos won the CIF-Southern California Golf Assn. championship in dominating style at the SCGA Members Club in Murrieta.
San Marcos, which finished the regular season 20-0 and set a tournament record in winning the Southern Section title May 10, shot 361 to win the CIF-SCGA title by seven shots over La Costa Canyon. Defending champion Santa Margarita was third with 370.
Brandon Hillpot of Colton won the individual title by defeating Brian Edick of Newhall Hart on the first hole of a playoff. Each shot a five-under 67 in regulation, finishing a shot ahead of Henry Liaw of Hacienda Heights Los Altos, Steven Eshback of Chula Vista Bonita Vista and Brian O’Flaherty of Westlake.
