Thousand Oaks Coach Chosen State’s Best

Gary Walin, who led Thousand Oaks to a 25-5 record and its first Southern Section Division II championship, was selected state softball coach of the year by Cal-Hi Sports.

All-state selections include: catchers Ashlie D’Errico of Highland, Christina Ena of El Camino Real and Elizabeth Peterson of Riverside Poly; pitchers Meredith Cervenka of Crescenta Valley, Kristen Dedmon of Esperanza, Desiree Serrano of Colton and Valerie Sevilla of Rancho Cucamonga; infielders Christina Clark of Mater Dei, Sheridan Fowler of Thousand Oaks and Wynter Turner of San Pedro; outfielders Kellie Cox of Quartz Hill, Lynn Mullen of Cajon and Heather Shook of La Serna, and utility players Courtney Fossatti of Foothill and Michelle Turner of La Palma Kennedy.
