The Master’s College women’s basketball team was rewarded for winning its final 22 games of the season by holding its No. 4 national ranking.
The Mustangs, an NAIA independent team with a 26-2 record, must wait until Wednesday to see if they are seeded that high for the national tournament, which begins March 14 at Oman Arena in Jackson, Tenn.

The Pepperdine baseball team won two of three games at Portland over the weekend to open West Coast Conference play. The No. 10-ranked Waves (12-3) have a nonconference game at home today against Long Beach State. They host St. Mary’s in a three-game WCC series beginning at 2 p.m. Friday.
