Katie Frattone
Santa Margarita, Soccer
Frattone, a senior, had a goal and an assist, leading Santa Margarita to a 2-0 victory over Glendora St. Lucy’s in the
Southern Section Division III championship game. It was the Eagles’ fourth title in five
years.
Frattone got the ball to Katie Rivera in the 23rd minute for the Eagles’ first goal, and then she scored a goal of her own off an assist from Jenny Anderson. Frattone scored two goals in the Eagles’ semifinal victory.

Troy, Basketball
She scored 20 points as Troy upset Ventura Buena, the state’s top-ranked team, in the Division I-A final.

San Clemente, Basketball
She scored 22 points to lead San Clemente to the Division I-AA championship, the first title for the Tritons.
Mike Maynard
Brea Olinda, Soccer
Maynard didn’t allow a goal in Brea Olinda’s two playoff games last week. In the Southern Section Division III final, he shut out
Santa Barbara’s offense with six saves, including a tip-away in the final
minute to
seal the scoreless tie. Top-seeded La Verne Bonita didn’t have better luck against the senior goalkeeper in the Wildcats’ 1-0 semifinal win. Maynard has recorded 19 shutouts for the season, five coming in the playoffs.

Calvary Chapel, Wrestling
Helped the Eagles win their seventh state title, upsetting defending state champion Chris Lopez of Covina Northview.
* Cedric Bozeman
Mater Dei, Basketball
Had 22 points in Division I-A semifinal vs. Claremont and 21 points and 10 rebounds in final victory over Corona Centennial.
