CAREER AT A GLANCE: In an area filled with top catching prospects, Dean has established herself as one of the best. She batted .308 with 14 runs batted in as a sophomore and hit .373 with 15 RBIs last season, when she earned Times All-Valley honors. She has accepted a scholarship to Auburn.

WEEK AT A GLANCE: She was selected the most valuable player of the Hart tournament after going six for nine with six RBIs in four victories. Dean had two hits and drove in two runs, one on a squeeze bunt, in a 5-0 championship-game victory over Thousand Oaks. Hart, ranked No. 1 in the region, is 4-0.
