Top-seeded Aaron Yovan of University needed three sets to defeat Corona del Mar’s Cameron Ball and win the Pacific Coast League boys’ tennis singles championship Wednesday at the Balboa Bay Club.

Coming off a three-set loss in the finals of the Ojai Tournament last weekend to Servite’s Patrick Buchanan, Yovan won the first set, 7-6, by winning a 7-5 tiebreaker. Ball, the league’s No. 2 seed, came back to win the next set, 6-4, before Yovan regained the momentum to win the third set, 6-4.

Corona del Mar was assured of winning the doubles championship, as Brian Morton and Garrett Snyder routed teammates Peter Kulmaticki and Michael Bean in the finals, 6-3, 6-0.
