El Modena 2, Hacienda Heights Wilson 1--Jessica Hejna led off the bottom of the fifth inning with a triple and scored on Lonie Wilson’s single to left to tie the score, 1-1. Heather Krumpols, pinch-running after Ashley Van Boxmeer singled, stole third and scored the winning run on a sinking line drive by Lindsay Klein in the bottom of the seventh.

El Modena (19-10-1) advanced to play Santa Margarita.

Kennedy 3, Cerritos Gahr 0--Jennifer McCard had two RBIs on a triple in the fourth inning, and Michelle Turner was two for three with a home run in the sixth. Turner also pitched a two-hitter with eight strikeouts to improve to 17-2.

Kennedy (21-6) plays Valencia on Thursday.

Santa Margarita 1, Tustin 0--Garland Cooper, who homered in a first-round victory over Brea, homered again to beat Diana LaRiva, who was coming off a 29-strikeout, 11-inning no-hit performance.

Nicole Bartholomew walked two and hit a batter in the second inning, and Katie Reiss came on to pitch six perfect innings in a combined no-hitter for Santa Margarita.

Valencia 1, Pacifica 0 (14)--Winning pitcher Michelle Whiteman singled with the bases loaded and one out in the 14th inning to win it for host Valencia (21-10).
