Tyson Chandler of Compton Dominguez High, projected as a lottery pick in the June 27 NBA draft, had individual workouts with the Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics in the last two days and has several more workouts scheduled over the next two weeks.
The Wizards’ workout, held at the Santa Monica Boys’ and Girls’ Club, was supervised by Michael Jordan, the team’s part owner.
The Wizards have the first pick in the draft. Boston will select 10th.
Chandler, 7 feet 1, has hired Jeff Schwartz of Artist Management Group as his agent.
Chandler is in an independent study program and will graduate with his Dominguez class. He spends mornings in a weight program supervised by Marv Marinovich and afternoons on the court with personal coach Tom Lewis.
Jeff Trepagnier of USC, Jamaal Tinsley of Iowa State and Rodney White of North Carolina Charlotte--all Schwartz clients--are working out with Chandler.
