Goleta Dos Pueblos 41, Ventura 22--The Chargers scored six touchdowns in just over five minutes to turn a close contest into a rout in a Channel League game at Santa Barbara San Marcos High.
Ventura (7-2, 2-1) took a 6-0 lead on a one-yard touchdown run by Joaquin Real with 41 seconds left in the first half, but Dos Pueblos (8-1, 2-1) scored two touchdowns before intermission. The first came on a 65-yard scramble by quarterback Shane Lopes with 34 seconds left and the second came on a 34-yard Hail Mary pass from Lopes to Anthony Ortiz with no time left on the clock.
Dos Pueblos, which is in a three-way tie for first with Ventura and Santa Barbara, outscored Ventura, 27-0, in the first five minutes of the second half. David Mackenzie scored on a 73-yard run, Kyle Shotwell scored on a one-yard run and a 50-yard interception return.
