* Dave Anderson of Thousand Oaks caught two touchdown passes, rushed for a touchdown and scored on a 72-yard punt return in a 55-28 Division IV victory over Santa Maria.

* Sam Calhoun of Westchster, playing in place of injured quarterback Brian Johnson, rushed for three touchdowns and passed for another to lead the Comets to a 41-10 City Section playoff victory over Chatsworth.

UPSETS

* San Clemente defeated Rancho Cucamonga, 17-7. Sophomore running back Cheyne Verhagen rushed for 157 yards and Beau Budde passed for two touchdowns as the Tritons beat the third-seeded team in Division II.

* Moreno Valley Valley View defeated Wildomar Elsinore, 24-21. Valley View overcame a 14-point halftime deficit against third-seeded Elsinore and won the Division V game on a one-yard run by Spencer Moore with 26 seconds left.

* Pomona defeated Gardena Serra, 24-15. The Red Devils took advantage of numerous turnovers to beat the second-seeded team in Division VII for their first playoff victory since 1981.

* Placentia Valencia defeated Irvine Northwood, 17-13. Placentia foiled four consecutive pass attempts from the 15-yard line in the final minute to knock off the previously unbeaten and third-seeded Timberwolves in a Division IX game.
