Injured Foot Idles Jordan

Michael Jordan sat out an intrasquad scrimmage because of a strained left foot.

Jordan injured the foot Saturday in the Washington Wizards’ exhibition game against Miami.

It is not known whether he will play in an exhibition game Thursday against Detroit at Grand Rapids, Mich.

Jordan revealed the injury when he spoke to the MCI Center crowd at the scrimmage, held to honor personnel from the Washington area who assisted in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
