From Times Wire Reports

Members of the Army National Guard will stop patrolling Monterey Peninsula Airport at the end of May, although airport officials would like them to stay longer.

The federal Transportation Security Agency has decided to pull the troops out of Monterey and some other airports.

Airport spokeswoman Jacqueline Hulsey said she doesn’t know who will replace the soldiers, but the airport is working with local law enforcement agencies to prepare for the change.
