From Times Wire Reports
Amtrak found defects on more of its high-speed trains, raising to 11 the number of Acela Express locomotives taken out of service with potentially dangerous cracks in their suspension systems, the railroad said.
Amtrak said five Acela locomotives were problem-free and would operate today along the heavily traveled Northeast corridor.
The cause of the defects in brackets that support a part regulating lateral movement of the locomotives has not been found.
