Top Southland Teams in MLK Dream Classic

Santa Ana Mater Dei, Inglewood, Los Angeles Verbum Dei and Los Angeles Price are among the boys’ basketball teams that will be featured in the Martin Luther King Jr. Dream Classic at Azusa Pacific University on Monday.

Mater Dei plays San Diego Horizon Christian at 7:45 p.m. in the nightcap. Price takes on Rolling Hills Prep at 10:30 a.m. to start the event. Other games: Verbum Dei vs. Downey Calvary Chapel at noon, La Puente Bishop Amat vs. Diamond Bar at 1:30 p.m., Mission Viejo vs. Irvine Woodbridge at 3 p.m., Pasadena vs. Hacienda Heights Los Altos at 4:30 p.m. and Inglewood vs. Palos Verdes Peninsula at 6 p.m.

Also on Monday is the M.L. King Day Inland Classic at Riverside King High. The games are: Cathedral City vs. Ramona, 2 p.m.; Murrieta Valley vs. Bloomington, 3:30 p.m.; Pacific vs. Ayala, 5 p.m.; Glendora vs. Temescal Canyon, 6:30 p.m.; King vs. Elsinore, 8 p.m.
