Car Strikes Woman in Crosswalk at LAX
A 25-year-old woman was in critical condition at UCLA Medical Center on Friday after being struck by a car in a crosswalk at Los Angeles International Airport.
The woman, an employee at Rubio’s restaurant in Terminal No. 6, waited for the walk signal at a crosswalk in front of that terminal and stepped off the curb, officials said. She was struck by a car when she reached the second lane of traffic, said Paul Haney, an airport spokesman.
The accident occurred about 9:10 a.m. Airport police shut down five lanes of traffic on the airport’s lower-level circle for about an hour after the accident.
