Nine people, including four children, were treated for smoke inhalation and 70 others were displaced after a residential hotel fire Friday morning, authorities said.

None of the injuries were life threatening, said Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Mike Brown. The fire broke out about 5:45 a.m. at the three-story Executive Inn at 1030 W. El Segundo Blvd., and was caused by electrical problems with a television set, Brown said.

Only three of the hotel’s 68 rooms suffered major damage, he said. The Red Cross set up temporary shelter at a gym for those displaced. The fire, which was extinguished in about an hour, caused about $100,000 in damage, Brown said.
